A Toast to the Downtown Women’s Center

A beautiful night in June with a spectacular sunset was the the backdrop for this event. The Leadership Council for The Downtown Women’s Center hosted its annual summer fundraiser, “A Toast to DWC”. As board member and event chair for the LC, Kathleen Schaffer worked to create a night of food, libations, activations and excellent entertainment to raise money for the day center at DWC. Sponsors included Schaffer and local wine makers, spirit companies, designers, candle making from Made by DWC and even Goat Yoga from Liberation Yoga. The night included an amazing silent auction of excellent items, art and experiences. There were over 15 wine, beer and spirit makers pouring and several non alcoholic unique beverage providers serving up their brands. The night ramped up when Girl Pool hit the stage followed by Willa Amai and headliner Linda Perry. MC, Fonzworth Bentley kept things going while DJ Valida from KCRW got guests dancing. The Cool Haus truck rolled in to send guests home with a frozen treat and a great time was had by all, for an excellent cause.

All of the proceeds were donated to The DWC to continue their excellent work to end homelessness for women. For more information about DWC and how you can get involved in 2020 please connect.
